I had been eyeing a marquise-cut pendant for months and finally ordered this one, and I am genuinely impressed. It arrived in a small box, nothing fancy, but the necklace itself is the part that matters and it looks exactly like the listing photos.

The stone is a horizontal marquise shape, so it sits wider than it is tall and catches light along the whole length instead of just in the middle. In daylight it throws little flashes all over and in indoor light it still looks clean and bright rather than flat. What I really like is the setting: instead of a big metal frame around it, there are four small ball-shaped prongs holding the stone at the two points and along the bottom, so almost the entire surface is visible. The chain connects to a small loop right at the top center of the stone, which makes the necklace hang straight and keeps the pendant sitting flat against my chest instead of tipping sideways.

Length-wise it sits right at the base of my collarbone, which is exactly what I wanted. It is small enough to wear to work without feeling like a statement piece, but it is not so tiny that it disappears. In the photo I am wearing it with a plain tank and an open cardigan and it still reads clearly.

I have worn it daily for about three weeks, showered with it a couple of times by accident, and it has not tarnished or irritated my skin at all. The chain stays untwisted, which honestly is not always the case with thinner chains.

Would I buy it again? Yes. Thinking about ordering one for my sister's birthday.

I wanted something I could wear with literally everything and this ended up being it. I wear a lot of neutrals and light knits and this necklace works with all of it.

The marquise stone is set horizontally and faces forward, so it never twists around to the back. The four prongs are tiny and rounded, so from the front you mostly just see the stone, not the metal holding it. The chain is a fine cable link that lies flat on the skin instead of standing up on my neck, and the pendant hangs from a single small loop at the top, so it stays centered no matter how I move.

Size-wise, this is the sweet spot. It sits just under my collarbone, so it works with a round neckline or an open cardigan without getting lost. I have a few "statement" pendants that I almost never wear because they are too much for daytime, and this one is the opposite — I put it on and forget about it, then catch it in a mirror and remember how nice it looks.

It also has not turned my skin green or dulled, and I have not been gentle with it. No scratches on the stone so far either, and it does not tangle even when I sleep in it (which I know I shouldn't do).

If you are deciding between this and something with a bigger stone, I would say go with this unless you specifically want a bold look. It is the type of piece people compliment quietly, not loudly.

Ordered this on a whim because I liked that the stone is set sideways instead of hanging vertically like every other pendant I own, and it turned out to be one of my better impulse buys.

First thing I noticed is the weight. It is light enough that I forget I have it on, but the pendant itself does not feel cheap or hollow. The stone is clear with a bright center, and from a normal conversation distance you can still tell it is a real cut stone and not a flat plastic insert.

The shape is what sells it. Marquise, so it is pointed at both ends, and the way it is mounted keeps it lying flat. I wore it with a black tank under a denim jacket and it stood out against both without looking like I was trying to show it off. That is kind of the whole point for me — it looked good with what I already had on, not like it needed a special outfit.

The chain is fine and does not twist, and the clasp has stayed closed through a whole afternoon of moving around, which is more than I can say for a couple of necklaces I have owned. No skin reaction, no color change so far.

If you are between sizes of pendant, this one reads "everyday" rather than "occasion." That is exactly what I wanted.

I own a lot of jewelry and most of it sits in a drawer. This one has not been in the drawer once since it arrived.

What I like most is that it is interesting without being loud. The stone is cut as a marquise — pointed at both ends — and it is set horizontally, so it catches light across the whole length. The mounting is what makes it look more expensive than it costs: four small rounded prongs, one at each point and two along the bottom edge, with the chain attached at a single small loop on the top. So you see stone, not hardware. The chain itself is a fine cable link that sits flat, and the pendant does not flip around when I move.

I am wearing it here with an oatmeal knit and a mug in my hand, which is basically my uniform, and it works. It also worked over a plain tee and with a button-down for work. Length is right at the base of my neck, so it shows with a crew neck, which most of my delicate necklaces do not.

Held up well so far: worn daily for about a month, no tarnish, no skin irritation, no scratches on the stone, clasp still tight.

The only note I would give is that the chain is fine and light. If you want a heavier, chunkier chain, this is a different look. For everyday wear, it is perfect.

Five stars from me.

I bought this specifically for work because everything else I own was either too delicate to show under a collar or too dressy for a regular office day. This one hits the middle.

It is small enough to be appropriate, but the shape gives it presence. The stone is a marquise cut set on its side, so it reads as a horizontal bar of light rather than a round dot. The prongs are minimal — four tiny rounded points — so the stone is basically fully exposed and catches light from every angle. The chain attaches at a single point on top of the pendant, which means it never swings sideways or flips over, something that drove me crazy with a previous necklace.

I wear it here with a light blazer and a white tee, and it also works with a button-down. It sits right at the base of the collarbone, so it stays visible without competing with a collar. It does not catch on knitwear either, which is more than I can say for a couple of my other pendants.

Durability: about five weeks of near-daily wear, no tarnish, no irritation, no scratches, and the clasp has not loosened. I take it off before showering but that is just habit.

If you want something you can put on in the morning and not think about again, this is that piece.

Bought this as a gift for myself and I have not taken it off — the marquise stone looks even better in person
